engine revving but car moving slow
was bashing my lsp on saturday was running brilliant had a few small bumbs, nothing major, was good fun!! on the second tank of fuel it drove round fine and then slowed down and kept gradually slowing down until it would barely move even at WOT. the engine revs really high and the car will move fairly slowly. the spur seems to be on fine condition.. what else could it be??

rotate the wheels and see if the transmission is binding. sounds like somethings stuck. that and/or your clutch is toast.

The first thing to check is the slipper clutch. Check it first because it's the easiest thing to check. Thghten it all the way down and back the nut off 1/4 - 1/2 turn. The second thing to check are the clutch shoes in the clutch bell on the motor to see if they have worn too far or seriously glazed over.
Your problem is most likely one of those two things. If those check out ok, post back up and we'll give ya some more ideas.

RE: engine revving but car moving slow
I had this problem , it seems my engine was blown though,
check your clutch shoes , flywheel, drivehshaft and dogbones ect. anything that transfers power from the engine to the wheels..
Did u give the engine a break between tanks? always allow at least 10 mins

Sounds like you stripped a gear in your tranny maybe. You can narrow it down from the transfer points by simply rotating the wheels. Rotate one wheel and if the other one rotates in the opposite direction, you know it's not the diffs. Then check the other diff. After that you can put the truck on the ground and roll it back and forth, if there is no binding in either direction then it probably isn't the tranny. Maybe try moving the spur with your finger and see if the truck rolls freely. Keep doing all the tests you can think of to narrow it down. With all the tranny/dogbone/wheel stuff eliminated, it's most likely your clutch.

If you turn one wheel while holding the spur the other wheel should turn the opposite way. Tighten your diff all the way down then back it off an 1/8 turn. If it doesn't work after that it's time to open the transmission case and rebuild.

put the engine back on after giving the clutch shoes a lil rub with some fine grit paper and still nothing!!
am i right in saying that the clutch bell mesh's with the spur gear?? if i am (lol) then the clutch bell is turning the spur gear but there is no movement!! i know there is a slipper clutch on nitro vehicles but im not sure where that is!! please help lol!!

RE: engine revving but car moving slow
The slipper clutch is usually part of the spur gear set up. In most cases there is a nut that secures the slipper to the transmission shaft. Tighten that nut all the way tight and then back it off approxamatly 1/4 of a turn. That's how all of my slippers adjust. Since you've been having issues it's possable that you have worn away or damaged the friction material that allows the clutch to slip when needed so if tightening it down does not help then you may have to dissassemble the spur/slipper set up and replace whatever your truck uses as slipper material.
