Introduction
Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce myself to the forum.
My name is Dave from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
I'm a brand new "Baby" flyer.
I purchased an SAVS and recieved it in Jan and have been dilligently using the sim to learn the basics and occasionaly hover practice in the kitchen or a local school gym.
I want to pass on a great big Thank You! to all of the members of this forum who contribute to the knowledge base for advanced flyers and newbies alike.
You guys Rock!
Ive been lurking for a while now.....reading and learning from all of your experiences.....until now, I feel brave enough to make my first post.
I want to tell you about my latest achievment......Feeling cocky I decided to try to hover just above my head when I started to lose it.....my poor heli looked like it was doing the dance of death.....you know , when it looks like it has been tossed into a large punch bowl and it is going round and round and gets worse instead of better.
I managed to slow it down and control crash it into the wall about two feet off the floor. I feared the worse and expected pieces everywhere...I couldnt believe that everything stayed on the chopper.....amazing!
I'm very impressed with the strength and integrity of this flyer.
I cant wait for the nicer weather so that I can try flying with TI
Once again...THANK YOU to all for your experiences.
Dave

RE: Introduction
The simplicity of the design is a definite advantage. I've started flying CP helicopters, and even when I have a minor crash, I can expect to at least replace the main shaft, landing gear, and other odds and ends. This weekend I got a bit aggressive with the DF and flew it into the ground from great height at a high rate of speed. I expected some pretty serious damage. I broke a motor mount and mangled a gear pretty badly. In about the time it took my soldering iron to heat up, I was back in the air.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
I look forward to the time when I can brag a bit about successful flights and stunning video but for now I'm just glad to have this great support site and fellowship of flyers.
