SIG 33% Edge 540T
I’ve been looking at the SIG Edge 540T the blue and yellow 33% Edge.
Can’t seem to find much information on this plane.
Anybody have one that can comment? Any pictures, or links would be appreciated.

Between the two I would do the Wildhare Edge, I own one and love it. I've flow the SIG version and the Wildhare version outflies it in every way you could imagine

If you went with the Wild Hare you wouldn't be going wrong, but one problem, he's waiting on the shipment of new planes. I think however he might have a few left over.

As taken from a thread in the Wild Hare support forum - "The [Wild Hare] Extra 260 and Edge have been discontinued as they were made by my Thai builder who is no longer doing work for me."
Regarding getting spare parts, WH said in the same thread, “Probably for a year for the small parts. Spare fuse and wings will not be possible.”

I was interested in the Sig awhile back. I did a search here and found a few responses that it was a little heavy. Can't remember too many details because I immediately dismissed it after reading about the weight. Try a few searches. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

That was not a 'good' review....I am curious about this plane too.

I haven't seen a good or honest review in a magazine yet. And I've been flying for 10yrs.

RE: SIG 33% Edge 540T
I just bought a Sig 33% Edge 540 Cowl ... to start my own Edge 540 project. The cowl is huge ... at least 35 or 36% size. I'm building a 36% Edge with a 106" span, and this is just the right size. The cowl is sturdy, hefty ... more than I had imagined. If the rest of the plane is made like the cowl ... I can see it being a little heavy. I hope to build a better ... lighter, Edge than any on the market.

I agree, that Sig 33% Edge review in Flying RC magazine was useless in terms of what you can expect from this aircraft. It didn't even state the weight of the plane. It was more of a memorial to the guy who started the project.

some other reviews are obviously by someone who has skills not matched to the model -and that really skews the review.
But hey ! write one-- present it -let's see what your skills are as a writer and flyer.

Hey Dick, .. I have pretty good writing, building, and flying skills. Uh, .. you send me a 33% Edge kit, and I'd be glad to write a review for everyone's critique. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Dick,
I can write. I actually have a degree in English Literature. Don't ever use it in my line of work though.
It's the flying part where you guys would start laughing. [sm=red_smile.gif]
Hope you're not offended by my comments in the last post. I wasn't directing them at you personally. I actually quit buying the magazines a couple years ago because they all seam like advertisements to me. Not much modeling talk and lots of "rosey" reviews. I can get free advertisement on the web by simply going to the manufacturers/distributors websites.

Seems to me that seam is a noun, seem is an intransitive verb.
I would be willing to review the SIG. Edge, I just do not want to buy it by the way. I know this is just a hobby and we should put the brakes on the grammar nazis, because we don't want to break the spirit. Surely the loose gamer will not cause anyone to lose interest. I do not mean to be mean, but there are hobbist like me who spend their money too! This money adds up and could be better spent on publications with less ads.
This could go on forever,,,the homonyms are almost endless.
I put some value on Scott Stoops reviews, he knows what we are looking for.

I do like the colors of the Sig Edge. Who actually has them for sale?
EDIT: Just went to Sig's website. 699 bucks. I thought it would be more. Here's a link. http://www.sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmar...SIGRC100ARF_01

RE: SIG 33% Edge 540T
This HAS to be the most unsuccessful ARF in the history aeromodeling! The kit has supposedly been available since May 2005, and after searching the threads on this and the other RC websites out there, ... I am yet to find ANYONE ... who even knows of ANYONE, ... who has ever seen one at a flying field! [sm=what_smile.gif]
