Crawler idea wins out!!!
Well I have been trying to figure out if I want to build a RC18T or a rock crawler and I think the crawler has won... This will also allow me to take an RC to Iraq on my next trip. Seeing as I don't have the space to fabricate myself I think I'm going to go with a Bender Custom chassis and a TLT-1 kit. From what I read this is an outstanding set-up. If anyone has any tips on what else I will need please let me know. So far here is my list:
Bender Custom Chassis
TLT-1
JR DZ9000T servo (320 oz/in .15 sec/60° @ 6V)
JR RS310 Synthesized receiver (already have one and it works perfectly)
55T Lathe Motor or Novak brushless crawler (not sure what way to go)
Stampede Trans.
Standard '73 Bronco body with a classic style paint job.
I've found a company that makes a pretty bullitproof machined axle and lock gears that could keep me from ever buying a TLT-1 even if one axle costs more than the whole kit lol. They also make an alum. axle that will fit perfectly into the set-up I've been thinking about. This should give me a 12.5" 1/10 scale crawler that can easily be converted to 4x4x4 if I wish. Where I'm lost is where to get the links I'll need. 4 link, steering, all the links...I have no clue what links to use.
If anyone here knows anything about the Novak crawler brushless let me know. Also any general info would be great.

That's an easy one.
Give David at Xtreme RC a shot.
I use his stuff on my crawlers.
