Mid Tank Mod
I am running out of things to mod on my trucks. For those who run a mid tank mod; is it mainly for racing? is it worth it? Will parts break easier with this mod? I am strickly a basher, would it make sense to do this mod?
Pros and Cons would be great, thanks.

RE: Mid Tank Mod
IMO the mid tank mod is good for any truck, basher or racer. It moves the tank in a spot where its much more protected, gives you the chance to switch to a tank that doesnt have the half tank lean problem. Cant think of any cons.
You might want to contact Chronic as hes working on a user friendly all in one "mid tank kit" That uses as many stock parts as possible. From what i understand it comes with everything you would need to convert your truck without having to research and hunt down all the needed parts.

Yeah i think the only way his kit will work is with his TVPs because he has to put in the right hole pattern for the screws, not 100% sure though but im pretty sure.

RE: Mid Tank Mod
Yea im curious here as well.
You say that a stock tank will probably be leaner after its half gone?
Ive noticed that maybe once per tank (in the middle) i seem to get a burst of air from somewhere that bogs and makes me do a massive backflip at lower rpms.
So if I even upgraded my fuel tank it might eliminate any potential air leaks, and eliminate the "half tank lean" thing you speak of?
I second BCKoots question about which tank should be used.

RE: Mid Tank Mod
Most people use the MGT tank. It mounts easily on a set of cross braces or a servo plate, and they have dual pickups inside. I really don't like the way it mounts though, especially sitting up so high on top of a servo plate. I'm going to order a couple of different tanks tonight and play around with them. I have mine currently midtanked with the stock tank, but I know most people wouldn't want that. The shape just makes it so easy to mount really low over/beside a flipped steering servo, and you still have a good amount of room in front of it.

I agree the midtank is for anyone that IMO wants to improve their truck. As well as the MGT you could use the 180cc Miss Vegas Tank, or the Hellfire tank...I have had great success with twin Ofna 125cc tanks...

RE: Mid Tank Mod
I like the MGT tank. The old style MGT tank had dual pick ups but the new style does not, I talked with a rep and the update tank has the same part number as the old tank. The only good thing about the dual pick up is that it stays running up side down. He's a shot on my mid tanked savage.
