PullStart Hassles
Ok so me and my cousin have been having trouble with the pull starts on our Savage X SS'. It doesn't seem to be gripping the crankshaft. Mine works on and off, but my cousin took apart his pull starter, re built it, and used brake cleaner to get ride of the lube in the one way bearing. He put it all back together and it worked awsome. Ten minutes later we arrived at the ball diamond and tried to fire em up and both of them did the same thing as before and would get barely any resistance with the pull start. It worked after like 5 minutes of pulling but this has been a constant issue for us. We didn't see anything wrong with the pull starter when it was un-assembled, plus the break cleaner should have gotton rid of any lube.
Any one have any ideas of what might be the problem.

RE: PullStart Hassles
are you using a high nitro oil content, like 16% that can cause the ebaring t keep slipping, try to go down to about 12. and clean the one way

RE: PullStart Hassles
hmm the can says 20% nitro formula 16 car fuel
who knows if the 16 is oil content i will check on the net
it is PowerMaster (the company that makes Top Fuel)
So maybe you are right because Top Fuel has a high oil content eh?
