Default What paints will work on Super coverite using dope?

You can get Dope in colors as bright as you want.

There are very few paints that will work well n top of dope. Most will eventualy crack and peel. If the paint isn't acetone based... it probably won't work. If it is acetone based... it still might not work.

Putting butyrate dope over other paints is also problematic. While it helps alleviate part of the incompatabile shrinkage (if you succeeed in the application...) most paints are attacked by acetone, and swell up giving a crinkled surface finish. (when they don't just smear all over...)

Pactra Aero Gloss Dope used to be available in 100's of colors... and colors could be mixed toget the exact desired shade. You can still mix colors. And You can mix different brands of Butyrate dope. Some aircraft repair shops may still carry it for full scale planes (cheaper than the modeling supplys... but gotta buy a big can) Sig, Brodak and Pactra still sell good color assortments.. though not as great a selection as 25 years ago. (not economical to factory mix the colors due to reduced demand.)

There's a different sheen to the Doped finish, especially compared to MonoKote's glassy appearance... but 2 clear coats on a properly done doped finish can make the doped plane look MUCH better than the Monoktoed plane.
