Default Fuel exhaust on servos

Currently flying my first profile: the Tribute 32 from Hanger 9. Awesome - most fun I've had with planes in 22 years. Here's the problem: I have an OS 32 on the front and it soaks the servos with exhaust. What if any are the consequences? I was thinking about building a deflector but then I thought Horizon wouldn't have designed it if it were a problem. Gentlemen - your thoughts?

Thats the price you pay when you fly a profile, all of my servos get dowsed with fuel every time I fly. My kat 70, burrito, mojo 60 and aeroworks 80 inch all have exposed servos, clean them and make sure you have the saddle area inside where the servos set is well fuel proofed.

I know a guy that cut out deflectors from the top of some small plastic bottle and used marine grade silicone to mount them.

I wouldnt put any more weight on a profile than what is nessasary. Plus what would that deflestor do to the air going over it, maybe change the way the airplane acts?

This would weigh next to nothing if someone is concerned about the oil (I'm not). I just always put the servo output shaft on the side away from the exaust and also put the servo in so the wires are to the rear.

Some servos are more sensitive to oil contamination than others. I've got some Futaba 148 servos on a 3D spad that have been drowned in oil for years with no ill effects.

On the other hand, I had several Futaba 9252 servos that quit working after less than five flights on the tail section of a profile. They required complete disassembly to clean them and get them working again.

Since then I've been installing plastic covers over the servos in the tail sections of my profiles. The covers are made from clear plastic containers that bulk screws, washers, and other hardware come packaged inside. There are no noticable adverse effects in the way the plane flys, and the servos stay bone dry. The photo shows the cover on my Kat 40.
