Which 4-channel FP Heli would you recommend?
I'm looking at the various choices of 4 channel fixed pitch single rotor electric helis that are available. I see the following:
1. Exceed RC Falcon 40
2. E-Sky Honeybee II
3. Walkera Dragonfly IV
4. Colco Cyclone/Thunderbird
I got these designation off of the raidentech.com web page for 4 channel helicopters. Am I missing any major/well known models?
I consider myself a beginner with alot of time flying a Helimax Axe EZ. I want something more challenging but not impossible at my skill level.
Which one of the four above would you recommend for my next heli? Points to consider would be 1) ease of transition from flying the Axe EZ, 2) cost and availability of parts, 3) features of each heli in terms of what comes with it (battery, etc.), 4) durability after a crash.
I have a flight simulator and am currently getting practice there, but I need something to actually fly.
Thanks for your help,
-Ata

pretty much the first 3 are exactly the same thing cept the canopies, except the 2007 version walkera 4 has a new head. So your debate is really between 2 choppers. I dunno much about the corona, so I'll let other people reply =)

Corona is by far the best FP heli out there and it's also quite a bit bigger than all the above mentioned 4. However, for FP micro helis, Walkera's is probably the best one in my experience.

I have both the Honey Bee and the Dragonfly 4. Parts aren't really interchangeable, some are, but for the most part not really. The frame, main shaft, rotor head parts are different
Out of the first 3, I prefer the ESky Honey Bee. The electronics are slightly better and the build a better quality. For example, the servos are screwed on in the HB and while in the DF, the servos are held in with clips. And I've had the servos slip out of the clips (OK, it was during a crash, but still.... ). Also, I broke LOTS of rotor head cores on the DF and only ONE on the HB.
I do like the Dragonfly main blades over the ESky blades. And I like the Falcon 40 canopy! So much so that I put one onto my HB (the HB canopy is cheap).
I can't comment on the Colco...
Good Luck!

There is also the Global Hobby EF Helicopter Sabre Micro heli. What do people think of this FP electric heli?

Well,
EF Helicopter Sabre = Dragonfly 4 = Falcon 40
They are all the same heli, just different canopies and name.
However the new Dragonfly 4#1 has a second new head design. Supposed to be very stable. Canopy looks good too!
I'm thinking of getting all new parts from the swash plate up and try them on my DF...

i absolutely love my honey fp II
if you get the "fp3" at hobby-lobby you pay a little more, but it comes with lipo batteries - a plus!
otherwise the fp3 is identical to the fp2
