Can someone help a newbie on hinging techniques??
I need some help,,,I thought I had this figured out...I'm building a Y/A Starfire...I installed the robart style hinge points and had plenty of throw on the ailerons and the flaps. Then they want you to install the gap covers which are triangle pieces of balsa tha cover the gaps..When I installed the covers I had no throw at all..what am I doing wrong?? Can someone send some pictures or something so I can move forward with this project...Please!! Thanks for your help...

RE: Can someone help a newbie on hinging techniques??
When I sank the robart hinges back far enough in to the leading edge of the flap and aileron, I realized today that the hinges were now only going to be secured into the foam only...I'm thinking that could be a problem..maybe not..that's one of the things I need to know I guess...do you know any pic's I can take a look at on here or somehwere else?? Thanks for your help..I just want to do a good job on this plane..don't want to mess it up ....

Here is a very good thread by Mr. Matt showing exactly what you need to do. This is the proper way to install Robart hinge points into a foam wing.
