Default Can anyone help ?

I am completing the installation and gearing up of my Air World Hawks. The most difficult thing on this whole model are the small secondary doors on the nose and main gear. To complete this I need a selection of springs to hold the doors closed. Does anyone know where I might obtain a selection of small springs say, I inch long, about 3/16th diameter and capable of stretching to about double length their static length.

Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

Regards,

David Gladwin.

Have you considered retractable ballpoint pens? The springs are surprisingly helpful in a lot of applications.

Hi David,
The quickest would be to go to your nearest LARGE automotive accessory store. Not sure about Gosford for you David, but Newcastle would have a couple.
These places stock containers of springs, different lengths, dias, strengths etc in compartment type drawer units - same as they do for o-rings.

Have used auto one stores for this purpose before.

David,

We have an outlet called Machine Mart here in the UK, they may exist in your part of the word, they sell a very handy spring pack containing a variety of springs which suit the modelling game perfectly.

Here' the link, if you have no joy at your end I would be happy to source and send one over to you if it helps.

Dave,

How about some springs from some old or spare joysticks ?

It's great seeing all the brainstorming come to good use. There is no reason to re-invent the wheel here. It seems a lot of you guys have already dealt with this before. [>:]
