Default Need help with GB Hobbies TCU gas solenoid

Guys

I'm having problems starting my Wren 54. I use the GB Hobbies TCU and I've narrowed it down to a malfunctioning gas solenoid.

Does anyone know if the JetTronics one is compatible with this system? I tried contacting Bruce but the e-mail I have is no longer valid and I see the GB Hobbies website hasnt been updated in 5 years.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks
Scott

He and Gordon have both changed emails recently.

I'm not sure about the Jettronics valve, but the output of the ECU is closely matched to the ECU pack voltage. An SMC 6v solenoid is a common choice, all be it slightly over drive in terms of voltage with a 7.2V pack. Its pretty simple, no PWM or anything complicated. Just look for a valve that requires a driving voltage in the range of 6 or so volts and it should work.

Hi Scott, if you have the brass gas valve, it is the same as jetcats or even the valves that PST uses, (since the PST TCU's are GB). Tell you the truth, there is not much that can go wrong with those brass valves, maybe a bad wire, I would take off that heat strink around the valve and check the wire connections.

I have the GB system on my Merton 66, I know all about these systems

For Paul Sousa

Thank you my friend, found a broken wire right on the edge of the heat shrink... God only knows how it got there [:@]
