Any off-road tracks in Iowa
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good off-road tracks in Iowa. I live in Davenport, IA but I would be willing to drive an hour or two. Thanks

Any off-road tracks in Iowa
Hey I live in Iowa(pella to be precise) Thier is going to be a offroad track at hobby haven in desmoines(45 minutes away from me). There is also a dirt oval in knoxville(only 20 minutes). I think they are suppose to be biulding a off-road track at knoxville aswell. Im running the same car as you. GT with a o.s. .12 cv-r. i havent been able to break mine in yet since its been so dang cold and i broke my bump start(dont ask) lol. I am probably going to run my touring car with rally tires on the oval lol, wouldnt that be a site. ill also run my gt oval until they get a off-road.

That's cool, the closest track I've heard of is at least an hour or two away, unfortunately I would have to drive 3.5 hours to get to knoxville. Send me a pic of your gt if you can, I would like to see it. Can you recommend any tires and rims for the gt, the stock rear wheels wore out fast!.

I sorta pictures Iowa as being 1 big offroad track...
You know, I guess some of us are spoiled... Becuase I complain if anything takes me longer than 15 min to drive to... Ya'll are like "Yeah! and it's only 45 min away!!!"

Yea 1 hour drive isnt bad at all for us iowans. Its the price we pay for living in such a kind state. Hey rc10gt only picture i have is when it was stock. I dont have a digi cam so i have to ask a friend to use his. Right now it has the cv-r .12 and rpm chrome talonz, sporting step pin tires. The Street force has mesh rims died orange by me. Maybe you could come down to knoxville once or twice this summer. They may have the offroad track going. O well i plan to run everything i have on oval lol. including the my next addition to the calvary wich will be a t-maxx. Here is the link to the site where they race:

hehe minnesotan here, i won't get started on our Iowa jokes.........hehe. only 10 miles away from the border here so we occasionally get one of you "foreigners" up here to crash their car into the ditch and go 55mph. but i think theres a track in estherville or emmitsburg but thats kinda accross the state from davenport .
Sam
BTW, you guys aren't that bad , I did RAGBRAI (big bike ride across the state) last year and you guys put on one helluva party. may i mention you guys also make the best pie of anywhere in the world?

Any off-road tracks in Iowa
Thanks for all of the replies, you would think that Iowa would have alot of off-road tracks but that just isn't the case, at least where I live. I might take the drive to knoxville this summer nitromann, you can show me the ropes up there. What version of the rc10gt do u have? I have the factory team w/ .12cv-r, jrxr3i, 70oz hitec steering servo and 50oz throttle servo. I really need new rear tires for mine though. Any suggestions from anyone?? TKS

I got the plus but its basically a teams version. it has the team chassis and shocks and i think the main thing that is different is that the team version has graphite shock towers????? I sold the radio that came with it and am running a lynx 3d. I have a futaba servo for steering and the one that came with the car for throttle. I wish i had a digi cam, one of these days i will.

RE: Any off-road tracks in Iowa
There is a killer track in North Liberty, Iowa. It is just 3 miles north of interstate 80, by Iowa City.
It is located at MidAmerica Hobbies.
It has to be one of the, if not, largest tracks in Iowa.
It has a total running length of over 750 feet.
1/3 of the track is 10' wide, 1/3 is 11', and 1/3 is 12'.
This track will except any off-road vehicle with ease, up to 1/8th scale.
It runs races every other weekend, and has over 45 drivers at the races.
They run a full JLAP race system, the same one they used at the internationals last year.
Also have the full AMB timing system.
The sound system they use is second to none.
They have food catered at every race, and the store is located on site. Doesnt get any better.
They also have a new race club located theer also. Currently there is over 50 members involved.
I know they run both Nitro and electric there.
The track just had 51 tons of clay installed, and they even had steam rollers pack it. Develeoping a great blue-groove.
Everyone has to check this out. This track will be well known in the near future.
If you have more questions, please contact Bill at [email protected], or www.midamericaoffraod.com.
Thanks, and hope to see you there.
