Default OS .12 CV-RX Tuning

Hello,

I have broken in the my engine per the instructions but tuning it appears to be a mystery as the O.S. website is WEAK! Can anyone please help step by step what direction to turn the throttle, mixture valve to tune it out after break in? I know the Needle valve you tunr CW to close or lean out and CCw to open or richen.

Your help is much appreciated.

The first thing that u need to do is adjust the high speed needle, since it controls the amount of fuel into the carb. The high speed needle is the one that the fuel line goes into. You want to turn the needle clockwise 1/8 of a turn!!!! then run the car in a strait line at full throttle for about 100 feet and bring it back to you. Take its temperature (no more than 270) If you don't have a temp. gun be very careful not to over heat the engine. One way to test the temp. is put a drop of water on the heat sink, if it evaporates under 2 seconds TOO HOT. When it's running at full throttle you should see a thin line of smoke coming from the pipe, if not your probley running to lean(not good). Keep doing the short runs until you get the high speed needle set correctly(good temp. thin line of smoke) If the engine gets hot at any time richin the high speed needle (counterclock wise) WHEN IN DOUT RICHEN IT UP AND START AGAIN!!! Once you get the high speed needle set its time for the low speed. If at idle its speeed gradually increases on its own before it stalls, your low-speed-needle setting is to lean. if your engine misses and stutters when givin full throttle from a complete resting stop, your high and low needles are set to lean. If you bring it in and let it idle for a few seconds and the idle rpm gradually drops off until the engine dies your low speed needle is probably too rich. Lean the low speed needle 1/8 turn clockwise until a reliable idle is attained. A properly tuned low speed needle will produce a reliable idle and crisp acceleration with out bogging......hope this helps, good luck and have fun..
