Muffler, firewall clearance
I'm trying to mount my Brillelli 36GT to my Sea Fury and there's about 1/16" clearance between the muffler mounting bolts and 3/8" clearance of the actual muffler to the fiberglass surface of the firewall. Being new to gas and not knowing what kind of heat to expect, will this clearance be ok or do I need to come up with some kind of heat shield?

RE: Muffler, firewall clearance
It should be OK, but I would maybe get some of that aluminum tape and put it on the firewall there just to be certain. Or even a piece of the pads they use when solidering to protect from heat. Is the firewall fiberglass? If so I would do somthing like that to be sure. If ply, then I would not be concerned.

Thanks Scott, you keep answering my calls for general help and I'm going to start pestering you directly. lol
It's a fiberglass fuselage and ply reinforced on the front to make a firewall so the outer skin is fiberglass with automotive paint (I'm guessing) directly behind the muffler.
