im going cheap...(single steering)
hi all. recently i got an awesome servo to put on my revo for single steering. now, im too cheap to buy a radio with EPA so how should i put connect the servo to the wheels without stressing the servo motor? its kinda hard to explain...... basically, i want to connect the servo so that when it turns right, the wheels will turn right all the way without stressing the motor whatsoever. and vise versa (to the left). .....the pic below shows where im stuck at. i need to find the right length and position of the turnbuckle to put in between the servo horn and the aluminum arm...... soo who's smart enough to figure this out.....any mathematical equations??

Buy [link=http://www.hobbieguyrc.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=20944&category_ id=1056]these[/link] nd adjust them until both the servo nd servo saver are straight. Or just turn the servo around the other way

Sry Danju, I'm not sure what your saying... If you look at the steve slaydin mods [link=http://www.traxxas.com/support/index.php?action=artikel&cat=143&id=472&artlang=en]here[/link] #8 shows what the linkage should look like. Even if it is the 2.5 its still the same idea.

Oh nd as for turning the servo around, I thought you could eliminate the linkage and bolt it up to the servo arm itself. I still have the 2.5 chassies so I have the smaller linkage.

IF you aren't willing to buy a radio with EPA, your going to have to try various servo horns and mounting positions on those horns until you get just the right throw to go lock to lock without having extra motion in the servo. Just get out all of the arms you have and trial-and-error it until you get one that gives you the right throw. You can measure the movement in the steering arm, throw a servo arm on the servo and measure it's radial travel and then try to calculate how far out you need to mount the linkage on the arm to get idetical travel from both the servo arm and the steering linkage, but honestly trial-and-error will be easier.
