Enya 50CX for Profile?
I am seriously considering getting a profile. I have an Enya 50CX that I was planning to use for power. Does anyone use this engine on their profile? I also have an OS 46 SF and a 61FX that don't currently have a home but I was really hoping to use the Enya. I am interested in the OMP Edge 540 or the Fusion. Opinions?

RE: Enya 50CX for Profile?
I actually intended to post this in the Profile and Fun Fly forum rather than the support forum. That's ok though, I am considering an OMP plane most seriously anyway.
JP, I am looking forward to reading your assessment of the combination. One thing that I do know is that the Enya takes a LOT of break-in time. Not to discourage you but you may not see the full potential if the engine is brand new.

Yeah, I'm expecting that. I have run it for about a half hour on the test stand. I plan to keep it rich for the first few flying sessions. By the way, I have an Enya 50SS on my Mojo. The 50SS is plenty of power and the throttle response is great. The 50CX should be even better once broken in.
Correction: I meant to say I have the 50SS on my Burrito. The Burrito is similar in size and weight to the Mojo.

The Enya 50CX is an ABC engine and not the same as their SS motors with cast iron piston and steel sleeves.
The CX will still require some break-in but it won't be such a long process as the SS motors require.

I maidened the Mojo with the 50CX yesterday. I took it easy as the engine is not fully broken in. The engine clearly has plenty of power for the Mojo, more than enough to blast out of a hover. Throttle reponse is good, idle is not too steady, but I expect that will improve as it breaks in. I'm using an APC 12.25 x 3.75 prop, Enya #3 plug, and 5% nitro fuel with a 50/50 castor/synthetic 20% oil blend. The airplane weighs in right at 4 lbs. I'm using a 6 oz tank, which seems to be enough for 10 minutes or more.
I think it will be a good combination. I'll keep you posted.

Here is an update. I now have about 30 flights on the 50CX and feel it is mostly broken in. I have leaned it out to a normal needle setting. The engine is a winner. Excellent throttle transition, lots of power, and never a deadstick. I highly recommend it for any 46 sized profile. It is more powerful than the OS 46FX/AX, Thunder Tiger Prof 46, and similar, and is a few ounces lighter. An excellent engine for 3D.

Enya just released a .61 version in the same size crankcase.
I got one delivered yesterday and it looks great. It's designed more for torque but initial reports say it's right up there and better than the 55AX when spinning 11-13" props.
