My parents freinds own a hobby shop, and they brought an E-Maxx to a family vacation and my dad and I decided to buy one. As for magazines I read RCCA and just subscribed to RC Driver.

i was at a national park and was driving around with my off-road wal-mart toy (i was 10 or 11)...boy, that was mighty fun. it was soo slow, and that thing couldnt even run on dirt. but somehow that got me addicted to RC cars. at that time, i didnt even know there was such thing as gas rc cars...so later i got a electric rusty and now ive got my wicked revo 3.3....

I got started in the whole RC craze with a New Bright PT Cruser. It was a street only, no proportional controls but it did have neat features like headlights, turnsignals that operated when you turned the car... I got it at a thrift store for $5.00, all it had was the car, radio and single NICAD battery. No charger but my dad was able to "jumpstart" it back to life. It has seen may runnings, crashes... and has even stared in a commercial that was shot in a class that my dad teaches, and no it will not be on the air. I now have an Assocated RC10 in need of some things but all in all that is my RC experence. As of now, I am building my own airplane out of scrap styrafoam lying around. I have to say once the RC bug has bitten, it has lasting effects. I also have a little nitro RC experence with bashing Danju's revo and rusty, really fun. I am planning on purchasing a Savage X 4.6...

I got started in RC in about 2002. I found this magazine at my local Wal+Mart, and It had all kinds of RC stuff, and then it just took off from there. I got my first truck the Christmas of 2002. It was a Monster GT. And then it was a quest to see just how deep my pockets really were. Now I own 4 vehicles, and soon to own more.

I've dabbled on and off with my friends trucks/cars, and owned a DuraTrax Thunder Quake for a few months. I sold that off (my friend destroyed it twenty min. after I sold it to him... ) I forgot about them for awhile after that but last week I went out and got me a Jato 3.3. Figuring its time for me to pick it back up.

Before I was a teenager, I always used to watch my dad run his old Tamiya Thunderdragon. I was intrigued and inspired. Then, I went up to my cousin's house for a family gathering and was looking around his garage only to find 3 trucks sitting there. I immediately went and asked him to fire one up and right when he started driving the one (an XTM Mammoth MT), I knew I would get into the hobby. Now, here I am, working on bein in the hobby for almost 3 years. It's been a long, hard road, but it's smooth sailing with the Revo, no doubt about that.

A friend in the military had a 4tec and that got me interested in the options out there in RC. Then I ran across t-maxx and Savvy's and was hooked.
I don't subscribe to mag's....I read enough for college to make my eyes bleed.

when i was about 10 years old for christmas i got a radio shack special it was a tyco it had a yellow 79 ford body on it. well it was slow but had fun then i was about 14 and i got a tyco exterminator or something had that for a couple years. got out of it then i bought a new ford truck in 2004 and thought wouldn't it be cool to get a remote control truck and have a body on it to make it look like my brand new one. well had the t-maxx for about a year and a half and almost got out of it because it was a pos then i got a revo and savage now i am hooked.

My dad had a sweet Tamiya RC car back when I was little, 3 piece aluminum rims, fast motor the works, and he figured I needed one so I got a Kyosho Outrage. Then I drove it for a few years. Now I gots a HPI Savage and he likes that I finally got a nitro. He's a pretty awesome dad and he appreciates what I do just not how much money I spend. He's always got questions and gets excited when I get new parts. As for magazines I read RC Driver and are subscribed to it through my grandma!!!

Love the truck ttoks! That's the speed control on the back right? Coil with slider arm on the back.
My 1st RC if you can call it that was a COX tether car. Both my boys got into RCs. Oldest an electric Blackfoot (RC10 glory days), youngest a REVO. The Nitro got me hooked completely thou. I am basically the mechanic & hop-up king, his driving reflexes are better thou....go figure LOL. We read RC Car Action been meaning to pick up a copy of Xtreme RC.

Back about 25 years ago or so I had a RC Tank that was connect via wire to a remote. It was like a 1/12 scale tank. Was so much fun. Was out of it till about 3 years ago when I bought a RC Tyco Hovercraft. Then my Brother-in-law who use to race back in the day and I started talked and he ended up getting a TMAXX and I get a Revo. And the rest is history.

yep, thats the speed control, in the middle is stop, to the right is revers and the left is forward, it is awesome fun lol, and that engine is way to fast for a car with no suspension, i don't have a radio for it though, i'v been wanting to fix it up and put new servos and a new receiver in it for a while but never found one that's suitable
and it'b by no means big, i put it up beside my revo before, it looks like a 1/18 or smaller lol.

I used to get tyco rc cars for my birthday and they always broke then i gratuated to radioshack zip zaps then i saw real rc cars online but my mom wouldnt let me get one until i was 13 because she thought the fuel would explode in my face so then i saw rc driver on the magazine stand at the grocery store and that kept me occupied for a few months and then i finally got a tmaxx 2.5 for my birthday which i still have today. fried the motor in 4 months so now it has the 3.3. I subscribe to rc driver and rc car action[8D]
