Default Making Spring coil L/G

I need to make a new nose landing gear with a 2 turn coil spring using 1/8 inch music wire. The reason is that the original supplied L/G at the retract end is just too short and the spring coil in the L/G interferes with the retract cylinder preventing complete retraction .

I have a K&S wire bender . Is there a way to form a new coil spring L/G with this device?

Alternatively

a) I was thinking of splicing a short length of 1/8 in music wire to the original but how to make it strong enough? Should I splice it at the wheel end or the retract end?

b) Have the L/G coil face front ( Not very nice and makes the spring effect stiffer)

Any other suggestions?

Tks

The K&S wire bender is a good one - that's what I use, but I've never tried to coil 1/8" wire. That's pretty small. Most LG wire is 5/32" or 3/16" - even up to 1/4" on larger planes. Are you sure it's 1/8"?

Its 1/8 inch because this is a EDF plane , all up weight is less than 5 lbs.

Does anybody have a link to the K&S bender? I've heard people talk about this before but I'm not sure which item it is. Thanks!
