Nova "RACE PRO" Low Temp Cooling Head for the TRX 2.5
Has anyone used on of these? They claim to reduce temps up to 40%! So you could run your motor to the limit and stay nice and cool if they really work. Only $40
bucks w/free shipping.

dony know if this helps but, i put a powerline cooling head on my old trx .15 and it made a hell of a differance. depends on the design i guess. price of that one sounds kinda of steep though.

get a 2.5r head it helps (it only hides the symtoms of a air leak running to lean etc) but hey its only a trx 2.5 engine

you only want to use a larger cooling head if the temps are high because you drive it hard, or live somewhere where it is really hot, and if you aren't a good tuner then you don't want one either, because then you can't rely on the temperature failsafe for a lean engine.

if you cant get your temps down using the stock head, then start looking for other problems elsewhere. Putting a band-aid on a tuning issue will just hurt you in the long run. The 2.5 can be tuned to run very well with the stoc head.
The only way to add an aftermarket "super cooling" head would be to tune to performace with the stock head first and be sure the temp is in range, then add on the aftermarlet head and dont touch the tuning. Leaning to make the motor "scream" even more and get it to the "new" temp will only starve the engine for oil. If you do it right, you then run the risk of running it too cool which is just as bad because the parts arent expanding as they should and you are forcing engine wear to occur.
