Savage Break in Questions
I'm through 5 tanks...
Truck has drastically improved from tank 1!!!
I have turned the needle approximately 1/2 turn clockwise during the last 2 tanks...
However, the truck still seems sluggish... and lacking of torque, and speed...
On pavement it hits 3/4 throttle and that's it...
It is blowing white smoke still, not as much as the first tank, but still quite a bit... and it leaves oil on the pavement when i "floor" it...
It seems like 3/4 throttle is all it gets... although the servo does go fully open.
Do i need to adjust the needle more?
I see video's of people pulling wheelies on demand and mine isnt close to doing that...
Also on the grass is boggs down... grass is fairly long though...
How do i know when it is adjusted correctly?
Savage X SS 4.6 on last half of fifth tank.

Well if yu are done with break in and start leaning it out more. Just keep leaning hsn until no more prefomance gain or smoke stops comming out exaust. Then tune lsn. If you have a temp gauage it will help tune and monitor your engine.

RE: Savage Break in Questions
do you have a temp gauge? after breack in you should slowly(1/8 turns) lean out the high needle. and then do the pintch test on the low needle. you should be in the temps of 230-280 f. hope that helps

If you dont have a gauge just keep leaning out like i said until no prefoamance gain or no smoke. After you reach either richen it up a 1/8 of a turn and then it should be good. Also put a drop of water on the head if it boils right off it is to lean. Right now it sounds like you are far away form being lean.

OK.. i leaned it out some more...
It got better but now when i give it full throttle it accellerates.... then hesitates and slows down... Sounds like it bogs down...?
I let off and go to idle, it stumbles, then idles back to normal...
The last 20 seconds of fuel the thing screams like a lion... so i know it can do much better...
Still will not get teh front off the ground (unless it's teh last 20 secs of fuel)

Read the Nitro Tuning again. Sounds like you can lean it out more. The engine will start to come into full power by the time you have used up about a 1/2 gallon of nitro. Be patient and make small adjustments. Keep putting fuel through the engine. My last Savage took alitttle over 1/2 gallon before the engine made lots of power.
