gear probs after eng upgrade
G'Day yet again
My truck is the savage 25 rtr i have just put a ported 4.6 HPI engine in replacing the Nitro star 25
since doing this the truck seems not to change to second gear ..... i put the 25 engine back in and even changed the gears so 2nd came in very quick but once i changed the engine back over to the 4.6 it seems to not change into 2nd again ..
The 4.6 is Extremely noisy compared to the 25 and i was thinking it may just be that noisy i cant hear the gr=ear change ....i dont suppose there is a way to tell if the thing is getting into 2nd ...
Ps what would be quiter the composite pipe? or the alloy hpi pipe ( non ribbed )
Thanks

RE: gear probs after eng upgrade
Lift the truck off the ground and give it gas youll feel it shift if it does. You might need to tune the engine also. I dont hear alot of good things about the composite pipes. Neither will be any quieter though unless your currently using the ribbed pipe that ribbed pipe is alot louder then most.

The increase in power is probably making you go into second right away, drive it slowly and accelerate little by little till you hear it shift. When changing gearing and/or upgrading the engine you need to adjust your tranny accordingly.
