Default Transporting planes

I'm sure there will be many posts to follow on this. I was looking a while back for the same info. If you type in "plane transport" or something similar in the search you will find a few good threads that have ideas and pics. Not sure what you drive, but I drive an explorer and there was a really good idea for a SUV rack that I am going to make. It will prob work with any SUV.

Heres a link to the post

Default Transporting planes

This is my way to transport the aircraft to the airfield:

This trailer could transport a 150" Extra 260, a 138" Extra 300 an a 110" Su26! Inside the trailer is 12 ft x 5 ft.

I just moved from a Grand Cherokee to a full size Chevy pickup and am looking for ideas how to carry my planes and helicopters. I want to carry them in back so Im looking for ways to make them stay put. Please post some pics of your ride.

I use these airplane stands that are stackable to store and transport my planes. I bungee them together and to the bed of my pickup. I then have a stand for each of my planes at the field.

This is what I came up with after researching RCU for a couple of weeks.

Default The Ultimate Suburban Plan Transporter

With this setup I can transport two 1/4 scale and two normal size planes, the wings and all our gear to the field. Note wing rack in the top of the surburban interior. I still have all the front two seats for people. Works out really well. I have an identical rack not show that fits next two the one in the picture. If I take one rack out I can also put my Pacific Aero GeeBeeY and three other planes in her.

The rack I made for my GeeBeeY. You could make it for any plane actually.
