chip hyde 34% extra
I just sent payment off today for a chp extra. I bought it ready to fly minus rx. Its got Hitecs all around, and DA 100 on KS cans. So what is the word on this thing? Does anyone happen to have a PDF manual stashed on a hard drive somewhere? Hopefully it will be here next week, i cant wait for my first DA 100 powered plane.

RE: chip hyde 34% extra
It is a great airplane. I now have over 40 flights on mine. The motor is now run in and, although I am having issues getting the right prop, really performs well with this airframe.
Things to look out for:
- Chip Hyde says that the CofG should be 3" behind the L/E at the tip, this translates to 8" at the root, far too far back. Mine is at 6" and I wouldn't want to go any further back, it becomes far too sensitive in pitch and looses directional stability.
- Keep a good eye on the aileron hinges if the builder used the standard cyno ones supplied with the kit, they become brittle and snap. Mine did, luckly I saw it and have now changed them for Robart hinges.
- The covering is always peeling off and needs a close eye keeping on it after evey session.
- Airplane flies really nice, I have Futaba S9152's all round that do the job very well. AUW is about 27lbs.
I'm sure you'll like it.
