Hii
I´m thinking about buying a spe 26 engine. What are your opinions about these? Your experiences? Reliabilility? Durability? Thanks in advance for any inputs.

In spite of what you may hear i think there a good value for the money. As they come from factory there's a lot of room for more performance.Read spe timing post i recently posted. They do run dependably and have good power out of the box for the money.BTW i've been running gassers for better that 10yrs. so i have some experiance.

RE: spe 26 engine
Started mine yesterday for the first time. Used my reg. nitro electric starter. With no adjustments to the carb it ran well. It idled at 2300 and the hi end was 6400 with a 18x6 prop. I flew the plane for about 10 mins very rich. Landed and ran the rest of the gas out. The idle smoothed out even more and the Hi end was 6990 still with no adjustments to the carb. It ran very good right out of the box.
This is the one I have. http://www.greenmodelusa.com/SPE_GasEngine.html
