MVVS 58 drill holes template
Can anyone have the drill holes template for mounting the MVVS58 on the composite-ARF 2.3m EXTRA 330L. I used MVVS58 with KS Canister as shown so the mounting of engine shall be side mount.
The template that I used is not correct when I mount the engine dome on the fuselage and cover with cowling, look through from the front, I saw that the center line of engine is not at the center for spinner back plate.

The only way to do this accuratly is to put the airframe on its tail, and place the engine in the position you require, set up with thrust lines and attached to the exhaust, put on the cowl and move the engine around until you get it into the required position, spinner back plate in the centre of the cowl opening, gently remove the cowl without disturbing the engine and mark the mounting holes, it will be easier if you remove the carb and put extention studs on the mounting flange, carefull of debris entering the carb.

MVVs adds tack screws to their extension back mounts for this very purpose.

RE: MVVS 58 drill holes template
Thank you BaldEagle, Since I do not buy mounting plate from MVVS as I consider to save weight so I will drill the holes directly to the firewall and mount M5 scews (4) to the firewall using 1-1/2" standoffs. Another concern is that I have to mount engine in side way since my header looks like this....picture. I don't think I have space on motor dome surface which is enough for MVVS mounting plate..

But I don't think I will mount the MVVS like this picture on Composite-ARF EXTRA 330L 2.3m the guy in Germany. He put a lot of efforts on it.

Hi Pe, Is the drill holes (6) for spinner and 2-blade prop 24x10 of MVVS-58 the same as ZDZ 50NG?
