Default Wren Mw54 / Mw44

Hey,

I just saw on the Manufturer's announcement area that Jet Hangar Hobbies now has the MW54 and the 44 in stock and will be selling them at Toledo.

Does anyone have these engines yet? I'm considering getting a MW-54 and would love to hear any experiences from owners.

Thanks - Adil

Your best bet would be to do a search on Wren in the jet forum. You will find there is only good things said about the Wren 54 engine and the Wren company itself.

Just get one, you realy can't go wrong!

Jason is right, they are excellent engines, my friend has one and has flown his with great success, he has now just taken delivery of the MW44, there are some photos and info on my site regards the Wren engines
http://www.microjets.co.uk

12lbs thrust might not sound much but it's enough to fly my 14lb mick reeves reaper with ease

all the best

Hello,I have one that I built. You can see it at my gallery. This little
turbine is so good,I start manually no ecu.I do have an orbit ecu
for it.Did not hook up yet.No rush till i decide to install in jet.I can start in 15 second's.Hard to believe. You can't go wrong with this
turbine.Good tech support from Wren and JD enterprises.

Hello
The price on this turbine looks good, but,, the questions on my mind are this, do I need to buy additional items to get this flying, and is it reliable.
I'm glad this thread was started, and look forward to getting first hand info on the turbine.
BTW I'm building a Y/A F-18, and want a turbine in it.

I have recently finished building an MW54, mine has the full autostart. Apart from the balancing which I did over 2 days, a few hours at a time the assembly took me 4 hours, this included mounting it on a test stand. It is very easy to build, instruction are brilliant, every step has a picture for reference.

How the Autostart is started is Tx and Rx are aligned using the prompts from the display supplied, Full throttle+full trim, idle throttle+low trim, then idle throttle full trim.

To start, trim to max(idle), advance throttle to full wait for a second or two then back to idle, turn on the gas, ECU does the rest. When engine starts to accelerate +30, 000 rpm you can turn off the gas. I started mine for the first time a fortnight ago, started first attempt and ran beautifully.

I am getting a wren 12 pounder soon. Its a sweet turbine, there has been nothing bad at all to say about them in previous posts. And they are very affordable too,you can get the 54 for about $1650 which includes everything but the battery..heck of a deal in my book for this baby
