Striped Hex..
Well I am in the middle of cleaning/rebuilding my Nitro engine, (haven't ever token it apart besides replacing starter) and when I went to take the head off all but one of the screws (hexes) were striped![:@] There are four in all and three I can't get out.. How should I go about getting them out?

RE: Striped Hex..
you can get drill bits that you drill with in reverse, and the bit catches in what its drilling after a while and unscrews it. not sure how good they are though :S

If you use a dremel and a cutoff wheel you can cut a slot in the screw head and use a flat head screwdriver.

RE: Striped Hex..
two options:
1) I would only use this as a last resort: buy an "easy out" drill bit, that's the backwards direction drill bit mentioned above
2) easiest method: buy a metal cutting drill bit and drill each head off. Then you can pull the head and remove each screw by putting vice grips on the studs and turning.

RE: Striped Hex..
I'd try a different set of allen wrenches too. I thought I had a couple stripped screws so I tried a different set of wrenches just for giggles and they came out...the wrenches are designed to strip before the screw does usually.....
