A bit more explanation of what your looking for would help? Are you looking for the Nozzle or the hardware to connect up th linkage?

Dennis, we carry two versions of a vectored nozzle. We suggest 4/40 (or the hanger 9 titanium) rods and ball links for linkage connection, both units already provide the attachment points for linkage.

Todd, do you have any pictures of it installed? Your set up looks good. Dennis

Sean,
I am installing the same vector nozzle to my RookieII, but with a new Titan SE. I am wondering if your tube is bolted to the former or just tight aroun tthe turbine. When I install mine the wings of the tube set above the former due to the offset in the turbine mount. Also, is there a rule for the distance into the nozzle the exhaust should be. Looking at your it looks like you have back as far as possible.
thanks

I would use a different mount for the jetcat, or install it so it is lower, and just jig it up to be inline. Actually the more I think about it, I would use pipe clamps and maybe BV's engine mount on the front, and then the nozzle clamp on the back. Yes, I only used the nozzle clamp to mount the nozzle to the engine, and to the former. I set the placement so that in no condition could the nozzle come lower than the exhaust cone (It would hit it only). This way I know I'm safe from deflecting hot gas inside the airplane.

Which other airplanes besides the rookie are good for a 2 axis thrust vectoring system ?

i recently got back from Gemany after watching ralf Losemann and his partner Enrico with their scratch built XJ10 with P160 SE - it was UN BELIEVEABLE !! he was doing full blown 3D with it, flips, harriers, torque rolls !!!

Any airplane you can mount the turbine in the back.

A lot of jets can be modified to accept this nozzle. The ones that come to mind are:

Eurofighter
Mirage
F-16's
Rafale
F-15 (that's a stretch)

If you use them in a twin engines plane and the distance between two engines is large enough, not only Pitch and Yaw you can get extra Roll-Control. This is what I want to do in a prototype Su-37.

any idea which planes can be modified for full blown 3D like Ralf Losemann's ? besides his own scratch XJ10 of course.

In the right hands, the rookie will do a lot of that.

Sean, what kins of angles are you getting on the nozzle ? i recall Ralf's nozzle had at least 45 degrees in each direction !

Also, is there a video of a Rookie doing some 3D anywhere ? or any other models for that matter ?

This is very nice, but not quite what i had hoped to see.

After seeing Ralf's plane do harriers, torquerolls and mainly FLIPS and flat spins with changing direction - my heart is set on building a 3D jet as well, and im really kicking my head about which jet to get.

Ralf's plane has a P160 SE turbine (kero start) - any idea which engine is in that rookie or who's the pilot \ owner ?

Sean, would you rate your rookie as completely 3D capable for the manuvers i mentioned?
What kind of angle can you get on the nozzle ?

there's also this unit BTW :

Go to www.adjets.com - turbines - jetcat - close to the bottom of the page there's what appers to be the unit on this Mig 29 ?

Dude, I think you should just get one and see for yourself. I don't think any of our jets are "3d" capable. The airplane will do some wicked stuff, but you're never gonna torque roll a jet. Nobody but Eddie Weeks would be able to engineer it to happen. You are welcome to prove me wrong.

As for angle of the unit, I don't know, never measure it. But my Rookie will spin on its ass continually all the way to ground and never move left or right.

I do not know Eddie Weeks but did you see Ralf Losemann's demo from Joe Nall 07 ? there was a video on the FG site.

BTW - which other planes besides the Rookie have the turbine mounted in the back to make them appropriate for Vector Thrust ?

and one last thing Sean, which turbine did you use in yours ? i think a P160SE would be needed to haul the Rookie really good !

I've flown Rookie II's on Rhinos, Merlins, Eagle's, Titan's, P-120's, P-70's.

Obviously the most vertical was the Rhino/ Merlin. But overall, the best engine is the Eagle.

P70 got the job done just fine for flying around and saying "Ooooohhh, I'm flying a Jet".

Sean, who makes that thrust vectoring system you recommended ?
