Default t-maxx overheating.

hey, i am having a major problem with my t-maxx. i know that the 2.5's have a overheating problem. however i have tried everything. different fuel, new filter on its way, body vents, what can i do?

i tried the same things with my 2.5 and nothing worked, until i drove it up the bush with no airfilter F****D it up in half a tank just an excuse to buy a new motor.

Do these threads describe your problem?

What can you do? fugetaboutit. Trash the Traxxas and replace with a quality engine.

get an os engine,,,, the 18-cvr is the best buy for the buck,, they come with a good price and are very reliable motors!! have a look at the article,, slight mods are necessary,, but it will work!! yeah i knw dude used to have a trx 2.5!!! i feel what u going through!!!

i am a kid and i dont have the money for a new motor so if it ok to just run it hot. if so how hot? i mean its getting into the 305-335 f area.

anywhere from the cap on the tank to the exhaust pipe. check your cap, fuel tank, fuel lines, carb, engine, header, and pipe. its usually the engine though but, you should still check everything.

If I might ask...How did you check for the air leaks? Because it sure sounds like an air leak more than anything else. Unless you're just not tuned right and running too lean.

either too lean or air leak...right now seems to be the only things that fit, unless its bad bearings or something putting extra stress on the engine

defintely not to lean, running real rich trying to solve problem. how was i supposed to check for leaks? i felt around, listened and nothing.
