Default Hanger 9 1/3 scale Cap engine choice...

ok im thinking about either a DA100 or the new BME extreme 105 when it comes out or a ZDZ 80 single i called bme and the extreme is going to weigh 4 lbs and have about 500 more RPM then the 102 so more power and about 5 oz less weight with the BME 105 well please help me out i can't make up my mind i want to keep it as light as i can so the ZDZ or BME is better for that but i want a good engine thanks in advance!

David

PS here are the engines weight's

DA 100 5.8 lbs

BME 105 4.0 lbs

ZDZ 80 single 4.29 lbs (all weights are from manufacturers web sites)

Default 33% H9 cap 232

3dkid, I have the zdz 80 in mine, it weighs 23.75 pounds and throws the airplane around without a problem. Yes unlimited vertical, torque roll at 1/3 and will start climbing at half throttle. Questions is, how much do you want to spend? For far less money with the zdz you will get basically the same perfomance, mine spins a menz 26-10 at 6500rpm. You will have to modify the engine mounts no matter what you buy except the GT 80. Best of luck in your decision. Jeff Williams

You might want to wait on the BME Extreme. Let someone else find out if the engine lives up to the ad claims. I'm sure it will be light weight, but no one knows if they will be smooth, a shaker, a hand grenade, or the best engine ever produced.

Great ad copy can be produced in about 5 minutes. A great engine takes a little more time and effort.

To find out about current engines on the BME website, you just have to change the date on your computer. Set your computer for the Year 2004. That way you can read all about the BME 50 and the Extreme....q;}

Info on BME gets leaked out onto the web by various sponsored pilots and dealers. You aren't going to read about any late-breaking developments on the BME website.
