Default the best nitro

Hey - Xmas is slowly coming up and i need to decide what nitro to get. I alreadys have aNtc3 so i dont need a car.... I'd like it to be fast strong and reliable. Id also like good ground clearence so i can race in a woods and on grass so either bugy truggy or truck. I have a budget of $600 or £300. So what should i get?
Thanks

get a REVO....you wont have the buyers remorse....lol

ive have around 36or so running rc trucks and cars ....and the only one that i really play with is the revo ..

i have three of them a big block racer a small block racer and big block basher and they are all awesome to go to the beach with and jump sea weed piles ....no other truck is as durable,,,i promise..and the 3.3 revo is perty fast and nimble,,actually i cant think of another truck that really compares..

get a savage, i have owned a lot of trucks in my days, and you can't beat the strength, power, parts reliability, and its cheaper. It has been the strongest truck i have ever owned, if you do not like to tune, then do not get a revo 3.3, that's all you will be doing is tuning, and if you ever want to go bb (big block) you can only go down to the o.s .18tm, or spend another 80 plus and engine for the bb kit.

the savage comes stock bb, if you want a basher, that will take on nearly anything look into a savage.

Or the mt4, )its the mgt 4.60, up in the uk its called the mta4 or something like that its thunder tiger, that's another great monster, again stock bb, with reverse, and a nice aftermarket support.

or the new hammer 18, or here in the us, mini mgt is a killer truck, also made by thunder tiger.

get a savage , many upgrades u can do with it. Im turning my savage into a racer now/ semi basher...with tvp low chassis , polished pipe, LRP engine , 3 speed , steel dual brakes, 17/42 gearing , ect ..its just flat out a beast. before I bashed it big time and it was still going strong. U can do wheelies

I have an mgt truck....Now thats a basher, its bigger than a savage and it handles better....Its also a very fun truck. Next yr im gonna upgrade it into the ultimate basher[>:]

if u want a basher and looks cool...mgt or savage
if u want a racer/semi basher....revo 3.3 or the lst2

MTA4's are going cheap as chips here in Germany - €350... The ST-1 truggy, also from Thunder Tiger, has a fantastic rep and also a good price.. In the UK I think TT is pretty well supported and widely available..

Savages are good if you like insane bashing and modding - more modding possibilities than you can shake a stick at..

To answer your question though, the best nitro MT is the LST2.

I love mine - big, very fast, great handling, and tough. Good quality radio.. Just need a Dynamite engine brace, and a tube of locktite...

If you want big, good ground clearance, etc.., I would go for an MTA4, LST2, or maybe a Savage...

I've never had a Revo.., but having spent so much time in Savage forums, I never will......

if you want a bad arrsss nitro truck, the savage is the king of bashers, BUT if you intend to race it also, the savage is not a racer so i would suggest a losi LST2 or the Muggy. OR you can get a 1/8 scale Buggy or truggy from Xray there the best out there Like the XB8 and the XT8. also look into OFNA 1/8 buggies there great too.

Sounds like a truggy is what you want, but for the Xray suggested above (which I also own), you're looking at $1000 for the basics you will need. If the budget doesn't stretch that far, then I'd suggest a Thunder Tiger ST1, which can be had for $369 at amain at the moment, crazy bargain for that car, it'll outbash, outrace and outdo a Savage in every way, no matter what the monster fanboys say (I also have a Savage X). The Savage would be a good choice for your 300 quid though, I won't say it's not.

If money's no object, consider one of these, I just got mine, and it is frankly, seriously impressive... FG Hummer 1/6th scale gas engined monster truck.

It's just easier to articulate that anyone who owns a Savage is obviously mentally deficient and most likely ugly and smelly too.

Hi there,at the moment(for you in the UK) i would recommend you get a Hyper 7,either the .21 or the .28 can be had for around the £200 mark. The Hyper is a seemingly invincible buggy and at that price you just can't go wrong(bear in mind either engine alone will cost £100)I bought a second hand Hyper.21 and was so impressed i had to buy the super cheap TQ.28 also....and i'm loving it even though my main interest is on road.
Hey plus if you only pay £200,you'll be left with £100 to spend on hop-ups/fuel/whatever.....i promise you'll not be dissapointed with a Hyper7(have a look at Modelsport but be quick)

Savage might not be the racers that the Muggy or LST might be, but at least it is better than the Chinese knock-off stuff that is out there.

hi all - just been reading this post.

how about the tamiya tnx 5.2r? no one's mentioned that. i know not much about nitro trucks and at the moment leaning towards this one.
altho i did see the thunder tiger mt4 side by side next to the tnx and that mt4 is huge! so i am not sure about my previous choice now....is this thunder tiger really good and reliable?

Thunder Tiger's a great brand, highly underrated, just make sure you can get parts.

The MTA4 every time. Go to www.hardcore-bash-crew.de and click on 'The Videoz', particularly look at 2006 most wanted, and 2007 Quarry III. Beefee used to mainly drive an MTA4 I believe. Plus those vids are the best in RC.
