Default Converted to TMaxx

Hello gang!! well if you have seen me in here I was all about Savage X, after a couple of years of being in the RC world I now have
Team Assosiated MGT
Tower Terror
Tmaxx (under construction!)
1/10 scale on road (under Construction)
Team Losi Mini T

Heres the deal, I got a tmaxx 2.5(not 2.5R) and a almost new Mini t for 180
the engine on the Tmaxx was garbage, it looked like it had syrup poured on the heat sink. I took it apart and took it to the hobby shop for advice, they said it needed a sleve and piston not the rod though(forgive me I suck with names of parts, but he said it would cost about 50 bucks.)
for the mean time I took allot of parts off the Tmaxx for cleaning of the whole thing.

I won a bid on ebay for a used 3.3, I paid, and the sorry dude hasnt sent it yet, i won 9 sep. Hasnt responded to my emails so stay away fro "RCRECYCLE" on ebay.

I want advice on what to do. I want to run my tmaxx!! but now all I need is an engine here are what I think my options are
1. Buy a fast engine for it (im cheap so has to be under 100)lol
2. put the .25 engine from my tower terror (but how, and would it work?)
3. some how beef up that sorry 2.5 engine maybee use different parts?

also, i really love the mini t, I like the concept of no fuel or messin with starting up the engine. anyone have the electronic version of the tmaxx??" and what do you recommend?
I know it seems like a novel but im done! so let me know what you think
Airborne!

I would buy a new engine for your Tmaxx...100 bucks is a little light though...you might be able to find an OS18tm still for arround 130-150 mark.

I bought some some stuff from him, and he was great to deal with. I had bought some tire and wheels and one wheel had a crack and he refunded me half my money back. he was always fast to reply to me emails.

You could always get a new 2.5R through the Traxxas ERP for $100 or a 3.3 for $130.

You asked about the electric version of the T-Maxx, it's called the E-Maxx. I have both and love them both. The T-Maxx is a lot of fun because of the realism and I love the reactions of people that have never seen an R/C with an actual engine before. It's also faster than the E-Maxx. The E-Maxx is fun because I can run it in places where noise is a concern and it's truly "plug and play". All I have to do is charge up the packs. It's nice not to have to tune it. It also has a lot more torque than the T-Maxx so it's better for slow offroading, like rock crawling etc...

The E-Maxx uses 2 packs at once, and the run time depends on the packs you use. I was using $10 1500mAh sport packs an only getting maybe 8-10 minutes on a charge, now I'm using 3600mAh packs and allthough I haven't timed it, I would guess maybe 20-25 minutes or so.

You can send the piston and sleeve to be resized. Do the break in and you are good to go, $25.00 w/shipping.
I've used OS Rocket and Rayaracing. OS gave me a very very tight fit. never even got to break that one in all the way.
Rayaracing will give you either a medium or tight fit and explain the differance.
