Default HS65HB servos srews??

Hi,

I am planning my 450SE v2 kit build and I noticed that the HS65HB servos that I bought only come with simple threaded screws. They look like wood screws. No nuts.

I checked the holes in the frame where those servo screws go and there is no thread in the frame, so I guess the servos are supposed to be installed with tiny bolts with nuts, but I dont have any

Of course, I could order some but I had an idea and I wanted to know what you guys think about it. Since the supplied screws look like wood screws, I was thinking of using some tiny wood pieces on the servos (maybe glued) and just screw the supplied screws through the frame and in the wood. I'm pretty sure this would work just well, what do you guys think?

Thanks

Mat

There should be some little plastic servo tabs in the kit that the screws bite into.

I double chedked, I dont have any.

All I have are 3 types of horn and 4 screws. All the 3 servos have the same accessories supplied and they are brand new. Maybe I am just unlucky, but there are no tabs

They are sheet metal screws. You can screw them directly into the aluminum frame.

Can't, because the holes are too big. The screws go straight in.

Someone told me to use clipped spare horns as a replacement for the missing tabs. Seems to be a good idea, I think I'll do that.

there are supposed to be litle black tabs in the heli kit, not the servo kit.. Mine had them. If they arent in your kit tell Align and they will send them to you.

Thanks man!! I was only focusing on what came with the servos, but after looking at all the heli parts, I have those tabs! Like you said, they are part of the heli kit, not the servo.

The heli kit also provide its own screws along with the tabs. Cool :-)

I was too excited, I didnt look at the heli parts before asking :-)

Be sure and watch Finless Bob's video on the installation of these servos, he has got a lot of good information, like elongating the servo mounting holes in the frame so the screws don't bind and put excess pressure on the servo case. I am in the process of building my 450 SE V2 and have downloaded almost all of his vids.

The servo arms work better as nut plates, they are easier on your fingers and long enough you they wont rotatate so you can tighten them w/o trying to hold them, unless you are a vascular surgeon this can be the most trying task of putting together a Trex 450.

The review of the SA should be online this weekend.
