Default GP plastic mount for RCS 140?

In the thread "BME 50 best lightweight engine mount?", Jemo talked about the GP engine mount flexing too much for the BME 50. This got me to thinking about it. I used the GP 1.2-1.8 long mount to mount an RCS-140 on an Ultra Stick 120.

Is that going to be a problem, especially since you must drill through one of the beams to run the fuel line to the fuel inlet?

Since they are normally used with a Saito 180, I figured it would be strong enough to handle the 1.4" gasser.

I flew it for the first time yesterday, and did not notice any flex problems. It was turning 8800-9000 on an APC 16x8, and I intend to move to a 17 or 18x6 when the engine is fully broken-in.

Anyone else have experience with this?

Default GP plastic mount for RCS 140?

Hey it's me again.

No problem with the RCS 140, I have one on my H9 edge with the GP mount.

What I meant about the flex, is if you mounted the engine mount to the firewall and then mounted the engine far enough out on the beams to get a particular distance, like 6-1/2 to 7 ".
Then the mount will have a lot of unwanted flex. Not to mention the BME swings a lot bigger prop, therefore more gyro type stress on the mount.

There is a huge difference in power between these two engines.
