the only thing about the JL i like better then the Tam is the scale gear. Tam is hard to beat on customer service so myself I'd recommend the TamJet, i didn't like the way the servo for the rudder worked to start with, but it works great and no problems.

JetLegend has Incredible hardware, Scale Gear and It works WELL. on Solid surface Runway. Nose gear tracks exellent.
I also Like the ailerons. and The inclusion of the tail pipe, Gear Doors, 2 liter fuel tank's, Double Ball Bearing Aluminum elevator mounts,
It is the Best hardware Iv'e ever seen in any kit. Better than most model upgrades, and included in the kit.
Adds up to a Great Value. Flys Great. But I know both are great flyers. Tam's Prob .. beetter everyday flyer. Because of the simpler landing gear setup.

The thing with Tam is that he has high quality standards. I know of two sparks/cermark/jet legends F-16s that snapped wing spars after Tam left the scene. They may have improved.......dunno. I don't really have a desire to find out......

Pro,
I have a Jet Legend however I think Tam's is a wise choice. Overall, you could make a Jet Legend look more scale than what you probably need, but the lack of an instruction manual may proove difficult for someone who has never built an F-16.
I would also suggest a Cermark F-16. If this is your 1st Falcon, you should beat up a Cermark before you beat up a Tams. You can buy Tam's gear and use it on Cermark's, they are very similar if not identical. Cermark's flies incredibly well, and it will take some serious abuse. It is very light and you don't have to worry about gear doors when ever you pancake it on the runway. It also glides extremely well. It does not have panel lines or scale gear.
So there you have it:
1.Cermark
2.Tams
3.Jet Legend
A Pic of my old Cermark's:

Good one! ha,ha
hey Shaun, how about some composite wings on your Falcon?? C'mmon man keep up to date!
If they come out at least half as nice as the F-22's, you'd have a sure winner
Then again, with so many F-16's already out there, who'd take the risk.
pro-builder.............feel free to call me at work (817)655-6121

Hey guys -
I'm in the middle of trying to decide which EDF to purchase and I haven't seen anyone mention Jet Hangar Hobby which has a nice collection of jets including an electric ARF. Do you know something I don't???
Thanks,
Jim

Probuilder,
I used to think that the taileron jets flew "funny" I had an early TamJets F-16....AKA Cermark with ailerons and elevators. I have been flying a buddies composite TamJets f-16 with tailerons and I can't really tell much difference. It is nice to just plug the wings in with no wires ....I know, I'm lazy!. Seriously, though the simplicity is nice. It's basically a 7 channel airplane with everything on separate channels. The landing gear is simple and strong................Good to have just in case you make a trip into the rough. The new omposite F-16 has a well thought out wing. I don't think that you can get it to snap on you unless you REALLY cross it up. I don't know how the Skymaster bird handles.

John

RE: tamjets or jetlegends f-16
Thank you Cactus Flyer for having the courtesy and insight to answer my question. I truly appreciate the help. I've been "scouring the Internet" for assembly threads, etc. on some of these birds with no luck. Mostly it has been just general talk as in this thread.
Thanks again,
Jim

Here is mine, Tamjets F-16, The # 1 out of the shope, 6 or more have flown this jet, has had 3 owners ( including myself ) just under 3 years old, retired once back on the job with me plus one qualification flight under its belt by my friend that came back after been absent for a year and half, after the second flight he fell in love with the machine now he is building his own ( good, soon formation flights, right Nick? )
first pic. first and second owners, Tam and Jimmy
second pic. she is comming back to life under my care.
Flying her with a P-80
and yes, this jet required Hainekens during the reconstructions.
