Buggy or Truggy????
I need to decide on either the Nitro Exceed Buggy or Truggy. Can't make up my mind. What are advantages and disadvantages of each. I also notice that the truggy is $10 cheaper. How is on road handling of the truggy?? i know the buggy is good. what about differences off road? And what about speed...which is faster or are they the same?
Here are links.

Truggy: http://www.nitrorcx.com/mub1screco4w.html
ooo...and this DNA buggy looks the same as the Exceed buggy....anyone know about this one too?

RE: Buggy or Truggy????
The truggy goes 32MPH but has insane power. The buggy goes 45MPH with a lot of power. The truggy will handle a lot better because it's wider. This is the Redcat Monsoon review which is the same as the exceed truggy review http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=939 and the redcat hurricane is the same as the buggy. This is it's revew http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=683 Are you talking about 1/8 or 1/10? The reviews I showed you are the 1/8.
The hurricane has about 1.5 inches of clearance and the truggy can be adjusted to be as much as a monster truck.
Hope this helps.

RE: Buggy or Truggy????
If money is an issue, there are only two buggies/truggies worth looking at in my opinion. The thunder tiger ST-1 truggy (300 bucks RTR at amainhobbies and one of the bargains of the century) or the Hobao (OFNA) Hyper 7 RTR for a buggy (any version, they're all good for the money). There's no need to go cheaper, these are both as cheap as anything and higher quality than some of the chinese marques which are floating around. As said above, go for 1/8th scale. 1/10th at that level of quality are little more than toys, demonstrated by the fact that the buggy uses it's two speed as a selling point. 2-speeds have no business in a decent off road car, except the Jato. The 1/8th buggies and truggies have a centre diff, which improves handling and power distribution dramatically, if you put a 2 speed in one, you would have to get rid of the centre diff. That's an unreasonable compromise just for slightly better acceleration in my opinion.
