yes 4 wd drive should out preform a staduim truck. espcially if they are both stock. Also a note worth taking is the jato dose 65+ while 4-tech dose 70+

wow, i remember these kind of posts from when i was into honda's. some one would ask others will my honda with this or that beat this guys nissan with a turbo. the answers were the same, race!
maybe in your case the stats lean in the 4-techs favor, but like in all racing there is a human behind the wheel. how each of you controls and tunes your cars will have a big impact on the race.
for instance, say i owned the 4-tech, youd probly win. why? cause i suck at tuning a nitro and i have never driven one that could go faster then 40mph.
even if both cars are stock, you could have a better suspension setup for drag racing.
like i said, alot of factors.
if you race, let us know who wins!

In the 132 feet, both should be equal. That topend power is made way past the 132ft mark and not within (nitro drawback). My rustler has competed against both in the 132ft and I came out on top. And this was me taking it easy at the startup line and using sorry tires. But I must say that they are quick when properly tuned. I truely think that the winner between the two will be the one with the quickest trigger finger if the race is only in 132 ft.

he said 1/10 scale 1/4mile so i think thats 132feet.

that makes more sense
maybe they should just call it the distance it is instead of "scale 1/4 miles"

i think the jato may take you cause its is geared lower, it may spin a little off the start but so will the 4tec, it depends on the tires, i know my stock tc3 tires would spin everywhare..

in 132 feet the 4tec should win since its 4wd and can punch right out of the hole.......
the jato 3.3 punched at a stand still will flipped over (if really completely stock) also id count on it to flip over half way threw.......
either way in 132 neither car is at max speed the 3.3 motor doesnt completely unwind untill after about 200 feet its a slow reving motor

I honestly think it's going to come down to the driver and their experience. Just like in real world drag racing - it's not so much about who's car is the fastest, it's about driver consistency. In 1:1 drag racing being too fast can actually lose you a race.
But all the speculation in the world won't make up for an actual race.
Put the two side-by-side and race 'em!!!!!!!!!!
Edit: And I did not vote in the poll because one of the choices was not "the better driver"

Your kidding about a quarter mile, right?
Id be suprised if either of them made it without exploding. Not too many nitro car engines like running wide open for extended periods unless you richen them up to combat the heat.
So if your tuned for performance and dragged the 1/4 mile, both vehicles would reach top speed and rpm in a few hundred feet so that gives you more than an 1/8th of a mile to run tached out...those traxxas engines would detonate!
I pretty sure an acurate guage of whose faster could be assessed in a MUCH shorter distance.
EDIT: I see Snellemin's post beat me to it!

if the reaction times are the same then the 4 tec should for 2 reasons. one- the 4 tec has a faster top end, but as stated before 132 ft isnt realy long enough to acheive this. two- the 4 tec is 4wd, so while thejato is doing donuts the 4 tec will just drive away

Tough to tell. I mean, the Jato being 2WD will have superior torque to a 4WD.

the only thing though is that with 4wd you can put the power to the ground and be able to take off. with a jato when you floor it from a dead stop you end up spinning it (trust me from experience i got beat by a tmaxx because of that)

I think that 1/4 mile is MUCH more than 132feet. 1,320 is more acurate. 1 mile is 5,000+ feet.

Seriously though, how the hell do you post over 600 times since the 11th of this month??!! Have you even left the computer?
Oh and BTW, Miami, a 1/4 of a mile is a little longer than 132 feet.

Actually I'm on the computer about an hour or 2 per day. I have school and stuff. I didn't think it was possible when I saw how many posts I have (just looked last week and had 500, LOL)
Yeah, a Jato (with better grip tires) will win in a shorter track. A 4 tec will win the longer.
