Default Hi,

Hi everyone, I picked up a used revo. I runs fine. it has a 2.5r. When i got done retuning it in the parking lot and a couple of runs threw the grass (no jumps) i got it home and did the usaul once over. I noticed that header had broken right at the base of the header right wear the heads of the screws are. Is this common? the revo is about 1yr.old. Thanks, Nick

Default RE: Hi,

ive never had thats before. if its not affecting the engine or anything, i would use it until it does. if your scared, just go buy a new one. or buy a THS pipe or Trinity pipe.

Default RE: Hi,

as long as it doesnt leak, dont worry about it.... thats the only thing you have to worry about, if it leaks it wont have correct backpressure to the gas tank thus leaning out your engine....

Default RE: Hi,

Yes it is a common problem. My brother in law broke 3 or 4 headres. Most guys at my track have changed over to an aftermarket header that is held on with a spring. The problem is theres a lot of weight being supported at the headers connection point. Some guys have braced up their headers / pipes better. But the best fix is a spring loaded header. He hasnt had a problem since.

Default RE: Hi,

Well...I've broken a few headers and all I can say is make sure you don't get hit by anyone in the rear. I finally made it through a day at the track with no damage to my header but...of course my carb started leaking Easy fix but it caused erratic engine performance. It's all how you drive your truck as far as that header goes...it's super sensitive.

Default RE: Hi,

Youre welcome. Welcome to the RC Universe world! Good luck with your new header. If it does break again, I hope it doesnt, go spring loaded header.
