Default Tamiya F101GT: Dante's muscle car thread

Hi all,

like most of you, I'm pretty hooked by the classic american muscle cars of the 70's.
While browsing the web, I stumbled over something which left me stunned with an open mouth for minutes:

A HPI Plymouth Barracuda body on a Tamiya F101GT chassis. What a piece of Art! I instantly knew, I had to build one myself!
So I monitored eBay for some time, and finally got a used chassis for my build for nearly nothing.
The previous owner listed it wrong and obviously didn't know what he had there:
A rare Tamiya Street Devil Ltd. Edition chassis! The Tamiya Street Devil was one of only two cars Tamiya launched with a Parma lexan body and features chrome wheels.
Everything else is identical with the Mercedes C11/Jaguar chassis.

Here are some pics so you know what hooked me on this:

1. The initial CUDA (front shot)
2. The CUDA (rear shot)
3. Tamiya Street Devil Ltd. Edition Kit
4. My chassis (which I havent received yet)
5. More of the chassis

Maybe put in a TRF F103GT shock?!

A mild BL would be sweet!! Another XBR setup for you?!

Looking forward to the build!

For now, I'm planning on putting my trusty old 18T LRP DTM special in there, together with one of my spare TEU-101 ESCs.
Can't wait to see in which condition the chassis is. I hope it's good to start right away.

Oh wow, another project. [&:] I want to build my Beetle-Frog first, though.

So, which body to choose?!? Please help me, guys!

1. 1970 PLYMOUTH AAR 'CUDA (My favorite)

2. 1968 CHEVROLET CAMARO

3. 1965 FORD SHELBY GT-350 (I always loved that!)

4. FORD GT (Might not go too well with the wheels)

Hope the TEU-101 can pull the 18T okay.. it is pushing it, though!!

I like either the first or the 2nd one!! Not the Mustang and Ford GT!

TEU-101 works fine with this motor, abused this combo in my Lunchbox for some time. Worked very well. The ESC is pretty capable!

So, you're not a Ford guy, are you?

Need more opinions!

I could easily convert it back into a Street Devil, Parma still sells this body!
But I don't quite like the look of it.

I'm leaning towards the Cuda myself, but this has been copied so many times already! The camaro is nice too.

Some other sweet Cuda and Camaro.

I like the Camaro without the rear spoiler. Hmmm...

no thanks man, if it was closer to me i would consider it, but the postage from new Zealand to the UK, which is 24 hours on a plane, will be extortionate , shame
