HAWGS
Craig Gottschang, obviously form the first picture, has had several years of interaction with various Thunderbolt IIs. Hopefully this series of pictures will give you a thumbnail dialogue of his history.
He recently completed his MIBO A-10 including the Maiden Flight at his home club Georgia Jets.
You can see, from the smile on his face, that all went well. A picture is worth a thousand words !

Roger,
That is a beautiful model! Great set of photos. What are the specs on the A10?

This one came out at just over 50 lbs dry with all the pylons but without ordnance. Carries about 10 lbs of fuel. Flys great on P-70's including loops and "high speed" passes.

RE: HAWGS
Dave,
If I have correctly identified which rx is #1, then the antenna running down the side of the fuselage is being used almost 100% of the time. This would be consistent with another jet guy at our field who reports 80% use on the "stock" antenna and 20% on the whip. Looking at the data, signal strength values are similar for both antennaes and apparently it defaults to the #1 rx if they are close. FYI this is a Weatronic unit I am talking about.
If nothing else, it sort of disproves the notion that one antenna is vastly superior to the other, at least in this installation.
