Z-bend links on the HBK2 head

Z-bend links on the HBK2 head
I've heard about the down side of the z-links on the HBK2 head.
Are there upgrade links or another model heli that you can use
the links from that are better quality?

I've heard that you can just add a ball and build a link by buying some rod and ends but not sure if there is clearance for it between the arm and the servo infront of it for the aileron servo (should be fine on the other two).
maybe if you use longer arms on the servo to prevent the above?

I picked up the link set for the belt cp which includes rods and ball ends.
I managed to build 3 links the same lenth from the bunch.
I'm using hs 55's and the balls just clear.

HS 55s are Hitec servos you can see them in the pic. Go to the LHS and pick up a set of push rods for the Trex. They should also have the balls, ball links and screws in another package. You can build a set or rods for the King II with these packs. You need 3 balls, 6 ball links in which you already have 3, and 3 screws to attach the balls to the servo arms. Your linkages need to be the same length as the ones on there now from z bend to center of the ball link. You need to set the length of the new ones from center to center fo the ball links. A little research and some measuring and you can get rid of those z bends. Gittle

Thanks, yep learning every day. I noticed that the servos
were not stock on his heli. Looked like the only thing stock
was the frame. Nice upgrades!

Hmmm I got 1 pack of Trex rods. It had about 15 or so rods of all sizes in it from LHS and 1 pack of balls, screws and a pack of ball links. I am almost certain they were Trex packaging. I have the part numbers at home but, unfortunately I will not be there for another week. Also they could have been some old stock or packaged differently. I got them for the sole purpose of modifying the King II. If I remember right one of the rods was a little longer than the other 2. Gittle
