Default a new heart for the monster!!

my Picco .28 P3 came in and i just finished mounting it in my savy i tried to starting for the first time and it seems much easier then the K4.6, no blisters. i bought a temp gun, after run oil and a new standard plug all for breaking it in this weekend. if you guys have any tips or suggestions for a good break in process please post and let me know. i broke in the k4.6 by the "tires of the ground" method last time and it had air leaks like no other. i want to do it right this time to bring out the true power of the picco with out moding it.

Seal it up before you run it and use the heat cycle method to break it in.

WOW!!!!! on the fourth tank the picco was already lifting the front wheels[X(] then on the next tank got a bit trigger happy and put my EXTENDED LCG savy on its top! this motor is crazy! i could barely lift the front wheels of my savy an inch with the k4.6 at 100% throt. with the picco i was running at 70% throt. looks like it's a good thing i left the wheely bar on i put in six tanks today, how many tanks should a break-in process take? i know at least four tanks, right?

If your impressed with what you see now wait till you get a little over a gallon through it, they open up nicely at that point. So far the break in and tuning has been a real breeze on all my picco engines. You made a good choice, enjoy!

i can clearly see that I may have to get another one for my LST2. BTW do you guys think six tanks is enough for a break in? it was a nice day in Iowa (20-25 degreesF) so i jumped on the opportunity.

take it easy on th emotor for the first liter or so...then by half a gallon you can start working it a little harder........ full break in will take about 1.5 gallons....... the motor will still run well but it wont open up till all the metal pinch is gone....

i'm only at my 6th tank and still haven't touched the needles.

do you bring extra batteries? ten tanks is a long time. it took me three hours to do six. i had to change out my reciever bats and my transmiter bats on the sixth tank. now i'm waithing on the storm to pass to get another six or so tank through. is it bad to have a "break" in the break in process? i really didn't have a choice[:@]

nope you can take as long as you want for the break in.
just make sure to use some afterrun oil(aro) and set the piston a bottom dead center(bdc).
i haven't ran mine for acouple of weeks now.
bad weather/work/busy.

batteries-i've got 8 hump packs. 2 for each truck.
