Default Replacing covering under stick-on decal

I need to repair a section of open framework which has a press-on "decal." The damage only extends about 1/2" under the edge of the graphics and is maybe 2" long. Is there a way to lift an edge of these press-ons in a manner which will allow it to be stuck down again after repairs to the covering have been made? I would be willing to remove the entire section of covering with the graphics on it (if that would make the final solution possible or simpler). If there has been an earlier post on this subject, I apologize; but I didn't see it. Thank you for any assistance, Dzl
