RE: easy vee motor placement?
So tell me something Ken. Just HOW are you measuring 34%?? Your obviously doing something wrong. When you emailed me about this, I explained that there is NO measurement to the "plug". There is a BALANCE POINT! That is a point where your boat will balance on a wooden rod with everything in the boat using a piece of masking tape and a mark at 34%. I gave you the math and told you how to do it too! I also explained that I couldn't get the 34%, and settled with 33% using spacers between the rear engine mount and the engine. My boat balanced at 15 3/8". If you can't at least get to where I did, you'll need to cough up some pics. Something ain't right! Brian

you cant go by where others place the motor unless you have the boat setup exactly like the same to be able to get the same balance point...

I didn't tell him where I placed my engine, I told him where my boat balanced out. And by the way, of all the Easy Vees I seen so far - none of em are steup like mine. You get to the balance point by shifting everything inside the hull around, no matter who's parts your using. Brian

Brian's right, don't look for a measurement for the motor from the transom.
I was stuck on the measurement from the transom to the spark plug untill I read a post on using the rod balancing.
My Easy Vee came out to 15 5/8 with a stock SIKK in it.

RE: easy vee motor placement?
ok BAD heres why im confused when i use wood rod and balance boat out with motor radio box servos & battery, center of motor is 17 3/4 in from transom... so maybe i am wrong but that is not 33%, maybe i am not using right math to figure 33%?

Forget about any measurements to the center of the motor, put it out of your head! Here is the math again. My hull is 45 5/8" long or 45.625" If I wanted a 34% balance point I would multiply 46.625 x .34 (point 34) and would come up with 15.8525, or to round it off to the closest 15 7/8". Measure from the transom forewards along one side of the bottom of the hull 15 7/8" and put a mark on a piece of masking tape. That is where your boat should balance with the boat laying on the other side of the bottom on the rod. The engine is where it is, OK??

The CG of my F-41 Stryker Cats were 36% of 41", it's about 14-7/8" from the center of the flange to the transom of the outside, as for the results for the handling and etc. by this CG, it's better then the original recommendation. I have a new Zen7 that is coming in next week for the new Stryker Cat, Brian, I would like to learn what you would recommend the best CG for it.
