Default What Does This Fuel Line Do?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what this fuel line does on this FPE 2.4 engine? It connects between a fitting on the top of the carb to a fitting on the carb block.

Thanks,

-Ed

It operates the pump in the carb.

It brings the pressure pulse to the carb, so it can pump fuel.

So, is this an older style Walbro carb? None of my other Walbro carbs have this extra line.

Most factory intakes use a "worm hole" to bring the pulse to the carb. FPE makes a new intake to rotate the carb so its easier to use on a model. So its simpler to use an external pump line. No big deal. The Zenoah 45 and GT80 both use the same.

No, it has to do with the carb mounting block. Most of the conversion type engines have them. They usually rotate the carb so the throttle is easier to hookup by using a carb rotating block that blocks the internal pressure pulse channel. Any carb you put on this engine will need this.

Thanks for the explanations. There's always more for me to learn about the gas engines we use.
