Default Please help me about the hot wire of foam cutter.

I would ask you I have the power supply 12V 5A.How long the nichrome wire should be?And the number of the nichrome are 26 and 30.Which one is suitable.

Default Please help me about the hot wire of foam cutter.

Either should work. I actually use aircraft safety wire instead. I use a 12 volt battery charger for power and have a wire that I move up and down the 5 foot bow to regulate the heat in the wire. Takes some practice, but you can regulate it to get perfect cuts. Did this for both models and full scale with a home made bow. Works fine.
