Default Carb Diaphram Plate Venting

Gents and Ladies (and others),
Attached you see two pictures of this neat little carb vent gizmo, just wondering how many of you guys vent your carb diaphram plates on your DA 100's? The only issue I see with this little device is that it shows the breather tube located right in the center of the Diaphram cover plate, on my carb the breather hole is located near the edge of the cover plate. Can I silver solder or JB weld the existing hole closed and re-drill a new hole to accomodate this neat little gizmo...just seems so neat and tidy...I have heard that by doing this you eliminate some of the mid range burble that some people find with certain setups... I have also heard of guys running lines back into the fuse where there is different air pressure levels.

Feedback and pictures welcome...

Default RE: Carb Diaphram Plate Venting

I only do it when it's needed. At least for me this is not very often. It appears that the problen occurs most frequently with reed valve engines. I don't see the problem with anywhere near the frequency in standard piston ported engines.
