He got back to me but I lost his information. The boat was relisted but has since expired so I don't know if it's been sold or not.
I see that you're not the only one trying to find a hatch for one of these. Since Eddie Barnes closed up the boat building part of his business they've been getting popular again.

RE: Help! looking for a cowl for a team striker supercat.
Now it's going to be project team striker supercat!!! Done some glass work on the sides and rear. But I have to straiten out somebody elses old glass work on the front end. It wasnt done wright. Also pulled out 3/4 of blown foat out of this hull too. If I dont find a cowl, I might have some wild ideas to fix and customize the old cowl.On the backend/rear transome,I used a piece of wood as a suport for the glass cloth to make the back deck flat.[8D]

RE: Help! looking for a cowl for a team striker supercat.
Ok I think I found a lid but havent heard back for that person. So I'm fixing/working on mine and moditfide it with a turbine scoop like the buds. I'd used a old cowl I have laying around. It's starting to look good.I'll post pics tonight.I got an idea on the turbine exaust,I'm going to make it into a retangle shape.[8D] Ok byron justaddwater sent me this to get ahold of the builder of these boats [email protected][8D] Ok heres the pics of the mod cowl it in rough stages. But got the cowl to fit better to. ad to cut inbetween the twins windos to take some material out of it. The cowl I'm hoping to have finish in a few days.Oh I also used alum as you can see as a under form for the glass work.

You're going to make me regret giving that hull to you aren't you!
Just to fill you all in. That hull was given to me when I bought my Sikk but seeing how it had more damage that what I cared to mess with I knew of someone who could fix it up and whose boyfriend had been looking for a Gas Cat. She wasn't going to get it until April at the Toledo show but found out that we both were going to a swap meet last Saturday in Fort Wayne, IN so I decided to drag it along and give it to them there.
It's come a long way since then!
That poor hull had seen better days but it had some dock post and seawall run-ins by the previous owners father. I'd kind of like to find out who NAMBA member 693 is so that he could see it.
[Corrected my bad typing.]

misshydro, were you able to get a hold of the builder of the Supercat to get a cowl? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if he has some spare hulls or at least a mold to make more. any progress on your restoration?

Some nice work - You wight watch the addition of the wing as it may negatively influence the way she runs.
One other consideration (if not already done) is truing the ride surface. Use a long sanding block and true the surface so the edges are sharp and the surfaces are flat - this is only needed in the rear most 1/3rd of the bottom.

kind of leanning towards the first pic,the V tail fins.Thats my trade mark looks. My blue angel and vegas have the V tail looks on them. But the second pic hydro/fountan boat wing would be my second choice.

Did all of them need this? what did it do for the handling?

You already know my opinion, no wing. I knew that when we chatted 2 nights ago that you already had your mind set on putting one on and that it doesn't do me a bit of good "discussing" anything with a woman. I can't win around here either even if she's dead wrong!

When it comes to body work I have to say you are quite an artist. I know Ron is already kicking himself since the boat looks 500% better than when he gave it up.
Tough call if the "V" wing will adversely affect handling. Even the Scoop on the top could be a little drag but hard to predict without running her.
It was recommended for all hulls by the manufacturer and instructions used to be provided on their website of the step by step process - it improved handling and speed of the hull - not a huge amount but if your racing - it made a difference.

I've got a single cockpit turbine if you want to remove the air inlet I will trade you straight across? it's good shape, looks like your good with body work anyways

RE: Project team striker supercat.
I added the scoop on it the help/improve the air intake better. Motors&exaust system builds up heat. And you need to get the heat out fast. Or you could have a motor vapor lock or knock it out of tune with to much heat building up inside the hull. Got the turbine tube to let the heat out faster. Plus I like the scoop.Make the cat look different.Plus I dont have to have a spark plug hole on top of my cowl eather! I think it looks like crap with it showing!! The scoop hides it.

RE: Project team striker supercat.
I think it will run okay into the 50's? but after that I think it will possibly negativitley affect (performance) with a large air scoop. these hulls use aerodynamics/fly to get the speed they do. but if you plan on running 50's and it does it.that is movin pretty good anything below that you should be fine though. I was just throwing that single cockpit turbine in there because I'm looking for a double low profile personally I like the more scale look of the double low profile. The turbine cowl hides the sparkplug and has all the vents plus a smaller top one that hides the plug

let me think about it. But this cowl was in very sad shape!! The guy who's owned it butchered it and warped out of shape and six cracks around the edges.

your scoop looks good. It may do 60+? I'm pretty sure that above that it will do something but possibly not who knows?
What would be really cool is a 8.5hp turbine. too much money for me this year 2500+
