Default How to get the flywheel off?

How do you get the flywheel off a Zenoah 260? And is there any tips I should know when rebuilding one?

with a flywheel puller. you can make one with a pice of stock steel two bolts and m5 cap head bolts. and when rebuilding you have to heat the case with a micro torch to get the seals and bearings out of the case's and do it all over again to get the new ones back in... dont melt the seals are you'll be screwed...

Now how do I get the piston and ring in the cylinder without gouging it?

squeese the ring into the groove with you're fingers and put the cylinder on it and push. but before you do that put some 2-stroke oil on the ring and cylinder walls. you wont score it that way. make sure the piston arrow is pointing to the exhaust port. and put the circle clips 12o'clock position...also if you're not changing out the wrist pin and wrist pin bearing make sure you put them back in the way they were. meaning dont flip them around because they were broken in that way. an if you flip them you take a chance of them failling....

What are the circle clips?
They hold the piston pin in place. (The gudgeon pin - for us old timers). Small wire clips.

Which direction should the opening in the piston ring be? I cannot get this into the cylinder for anything.

there's a notch in the piston ring groove on the piston, the join in the ring lines up with that. there should be an arrow on the top of the piston if it's a stock piston (hasn't been turned down) which should point to the exhaust port when installed. hold the piston ring closed with your fingers & gently lower the sleave over it, there's 2 parts of the sleave that hang down lower which you need to slip over 1st while holding the piston ring in. once you get those 2 parts over you should be OK.
